Heritage Isles, New Tampa (Tampa, FL)

Heritage Isles is a golf community inside the Tampa city limits off Cross Creek Blvd in New Tampa, with 1,020 residences around a public 18-hole course, a resident pool and fitness center, an HOA, a CDD dating to 1997 and an Envera-monitored gate system since 2024.

What a visit looks like in Heritage Isles

Heritage Isles is a golf community off Cross Creek Blvd in New Tampa, inside the city limits of Tampa, Florida, with a 33647 address; its main entrance is on Cross Creek Blvd, and we are just down the boulevard in Cross Creek. The course, designed by Gordon Lewis and Jed Azinger and opened in 2000, is pay-as-you-play and open to the public, with the Bay Scape Bistro at the clubhouse on Plantation Bay Dr. The pool, fitness center and clubhouse are resident amenities: the pool has controlled access and the fitness center uses access cards.

The gates are new. After a 2022 landowner vote to have the community development district take over the roads, an Envera gate system went live at both entrances, Grand Isle and Sandy Point, in August 2024: residents use vehicle stickers or plate readers, and visitors stop at a kiosk lane and must be on the household guest list in the MyEnvera app. Add us before the first visit and we confirm it at the meet and greet. The Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club CDD, created by county ordinance in 1997, rides on the tax bill; the HOA bills separately.

Heritage Isles has a lot of families with young children: the HOA runs summer camps and youth leagues, the pool has a slide and a splash area, and there is a toddler playground. Our babysitting here is after-school and evening care in your home, with homework at the kitchen table before pool time. For dogs, summer walks go at sunrise and after 7 p.m. because of the storms, with a midday let-out in between. Heritage Isles kids are in Hillsborough County Public Schools, so their calendar differs from the Pasco schools across the county line.

We live a few streets over in Cross Creek, on the same side of the county line.

Getting in

Since August 2024 both entrances (Grand Isle and Sandy Point) use an Envera gate system: residents use vehicle stickers or plate readers, visitors use the kiosk lane and must be on your MyEnvera guest list. Add us before the first visit; we confirm it at the meet and greet.

Heritage Isles questions

The gate, the schools, the amenities and what a visit looks like here.

Is Heritage Isles gated?

Yes, since August 2024. The CDD installed an Envera system at the Grand Isle and Sandy Point entrances: residents use stickers or license-plate readers, and visitors check in at a kiosk against the household MyEnvera guest list. Golfers and restaurant guests come in the same way, because the course and Bay Scape Bistro are open to the public.

Is Heritage Isles in Tampa or Wesley Chapel?

Tampa. Heritage Isles is inside the Tampa city limits in New Tampa, Hillsborough County, ZIP 33647; the HOA describes it as part of the City of Tampa, and the Census Bureau geocoder agrees. It is not in Wesley Chapel or Pasco County.

What does the Heritage Isles CDD cover versus the HOA?

The Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club Community Development District was created by Hillsborough County ordinance in 1997; it maintains district facilities and, after the 2022 landowner vote, the roads and gates outside Nassau Pointe. The HOA handles deed restrictions and design review, and it bills separately from the CDD assessment on the tax bill.

Which schools are zoned for Heritage Isles?

Heritage Isles is in Hillsborough County Public Schools, not Pasco. Benito Middle is on Cross Creek Blvd and Wharton High is on Bruce B. Downs Blvd; use the district School Zones Locator for your address, because zones follow streets rather than community names.
