Babysitting & Date Nights in Wesley Chapel, FL and New Tampa

Date night without the group text to six people.

A caregiver playing with two children on a screened lanai in Wesley Chapel, Florida
Babysitting: $24/hrEach additional child: $3/hrOvernight: $165/night

Babysitting with us means the same caregiver comes to your house, for your kids only. We never take children to our home, never combine families, and never run anything that looks like a group. You leave the routine on the counter or just tell us at the door: what is for dinner, which kid has a worksheet due, who needs the nightlight, what time lights-out actually is versus what they will tell us it is. We follow it. When you get back the dishes are done, the toys are off the floor, and the kids are asleep or close to it.

A typical date-night booking starts around 5:30 or 6, which is right when the summer storm has cleared and the drive to Wiregrass or down to Tampa is manageable again. We handle dinner, whether that is the meal you prepped or a box of mac and cheese, then homework if it is a school night, then bath and books and bed. Weekend daytime bookings can include the pool if your community amenity center allows it, which means we will need your resident fob and a clear word from you on which kids can swim.

We work both sides of the county line. We're just down Bruce B. Downs in New Tampa, and Wesley Chapel is where most of our visits are, so we know that Pasco County Schools and Hillsborough County Public Schools run on different calendars. A teacher planning day in one district is a normal Wednesday in the other, and the early-release days do not line up either. Tell us which district your kids are in and we will keep that straight when you book a school-day afternoon.

Honest boundaries: there is a two-hour minimum, we need a parent reachable by phone for the whole booking, and we do not drive children anywhere. We do not sit for a child who is home from school with a fever, and we will ask about allergies, medications and any medical needs at the meet and greet so nothing is a surprise at bedtime. If we are not the right fit for your family, we would rather say so during that first conversation than find out on a Friday night.

Why us over the alternatives

Care.com's published Wesley Chapel average for babysitters is about $20 an hour. We charge $24 and publish it, and for the difference you get one of two named people, the same one the next time you book, who follows your bedtime routine and leaves the kitchen cleaner than they found it.

Questions we get about babysitting

In Wesley Chapel, FL and New Tampa.

How much does babysitting cost in Wesley Chapel, FL?

$24 an hour for one child with a two-hour minimum, plus $3 an hour for each additional child, so two kids are $27 an hour and three are $30. Overnights are $165 for 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.; hours before 10 or after 8 are billed at the hourly rate. We publish the number so you do not have to ask, and the rate on a Friday night is the same as on a Tuesday afternoon.

Can I drop my kids off at your house?

No, and this one is not negotiable. We babysit in your home, for your family only, one family at a time. That is the only kind of care we offer: we never bring another family's kids to your house, and we never take yours to ours. Care in a provider's home, or care that mixes several families, is a different arrangement with its own state rules, and we do not do it.

Do you serve New Tampa too?

Yes. We live in Cross Creek, so Tampa, FL 33647 is the short drive: Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green, Arbor Greene, Heritage Isles, Live Oak, K-Bar Ranch and everything along Bruce B. Downs and Cross Creek Boulevard. Wesley Chapel across the county line is where most of our visits are. We quote by drive time rather than miles, and we plan for Bruce B. Downs at rush hour rather than the best-case run.

Will you take the kids to the pool or the playground?

The playground in your neighborhood, yes. The community pool, only if you say so and only with your resident fob, since most Wesley Chapel and New Tampa amenity centers are fob-access and run by the CDD or the HOA. We follow your rules on who swims, and we stay within arm's reach of anyone who cannot swim on their own. We do not drive children anywhere, so anything beyond walking distance is off the list.

What happens on a school night?

Dinner first, then homework at the table before screens, then the usual bath-and-bed sequence. Tell us the district: Wesley Chapel kids are in Pasco County Schools and New Tampa kids are in Hillsborough County Public Schools, and the two do not share a calendar, so an early-release day in one is a full day in the other. We check the folder for anything that needs a signature and leave it on the counter for you.

What do you need from me before the first booking?

A short meet and greet at your house, ideally with the kids in the room, so they know the face at the door before you walk out of it. Then the practical list: allergies, any medication and its schedule, the bedtime that actually works, gate and door instructions, a neighbor or relative as a backup contact, and where the flashlight lives in case the power blinks during a summer storm. We keep it in your file so you do not repeat it every time.
