A session is an hour at your kitchen table with one child and whatever came home in the backpack. We start with what is due tomorrow, because that is what causes the fight at 8 p.m., then work backward to the thing the teacher keeps flagging: the reading log that never gets filled in, the multiplication facts that are still slow, the science project due in nine days. For younger kids a chunk of every hour is reading out loud, because fluency is the thing that makes everything else easier. For middle schoolers it is often the planner, not the content, that needs fixing.
We cover K–8 core subjects: reading, writing, math through pre-algebra, science and social studies homework, and the study routines that go with them. We are patient adults who are good at sitting with a kid, not credentialed teachers, and we do not pretend otherwise. If your child needs a specialist for a diagnosed learning difference, or help with high school chemistry, we will say so and stay in our lane. What we are good at is showing up on the same afternoon every week so the homework stops being a nightly negotiation between you and your kid.
We work both districts. Wesley Chapel kids are in Pasco County Schools and New Tampa kids are in Hillsborough County Public Schools, and the two run on different calendars with different early-release days, different testing weeks and different spring breaks. We're just down Bruce B. Downs in New Tampa on the Hillsborough side, and Wesley Chapel is where most of our visits are, so we keep both calendars on the fridge. If your Pasco kid has a half day and your Hillsborough neighbor does not, we will already know.
The 4-session block is the same hour, four times, invoiced together and a little cheaper, and it is meant for the standing slot: Tuesdays at 4, every week, same person. Sessions are in your home only, one child at a time; two siblings means two sessions, not one crowded hour. Summer sessions keep the reading going between June and August so the first week of school is not a cliff. We do not tutor at our house, at the library or at the clubhouse, and we do not drive kids anywhere.

Wesley Chapel is where most of our visits are, so we spend the afternoons on both sides of the county line and keep both district calendars straight.
Can two siblings share a session?
Each child gets their own session. Two kids at one table with one adult means two kids waiting half the time, which is what happens at home already. Book back-to-back hours instead, and the second child does their independent reading while the first one works. If both kids are in the same grade with the same assignment, ask us; occasionally it makes sense, but the default is one at a time.
What if my kid just refuses?
It happens, usually in the first two sessions. We do not fight it. We start with the shortest, most finishable task, get one win on the page, and build from there; most kids settle in once they figure out we are not going anywhere and not going to yell. If a child truly will not engage after a few sessions, we will tell you honestly rather than keep billing you for an hour of staring at a worksheet.
