What a visit looks like in Live Oak
Live Oak Preserve is the gated community on Bruce B. Downs Blvd across from Wharton High School in New Tampa (Tampa, FL 33647), running north to County Line Rd on the Hillsborough side. It is not inside Tampa city limits: its two CDDs, Live Oak No. 1 and No. 2, were created by Hillsborough County ordinance in 2002, and the HOA's resident sheet lists county trash pickup. The gate runs on Envera gate security with a guard-house phone, resident access cards and gate stickers; the HOA does not publish a visitor procedure, so you tell the gate to expect us and we confirm the arrangement at the free meet and greet.
Sixteen villages, from Ashwood to Willow Bend, share the Live Oak Clubhouse at 9401 Oak Preserve Blvd: a large pool with a children's water play area and slides, a jacuzzi, a fitness room, lighted tennis courts with a pickleball area, basketball and volleyball courts and a covered playground. Access is by photo ID, proof of residency and access card, five guests per household. That is why our babysitting happens at your house: the playground in the village, the walking trails, homework at the kitchen table, and the same routine when a parent works late. Turner/Bartels K-8 is the zoned school for the clubhouse address, with Wharton for high school.
We live in Cross Creek, just down Bruce B. Downs, so a 6:30 a.m. dog walk before the pavement heats up or a 7:30 p.m. one after the storms clear is a normal booking. Live Oak Preserve is Hillsborough County Public Schools territory; the Pasco line is County Line Rd at the community's north edge, and the two districts run different calendars, so a teacher workday here is not one across the road. Tell us the village and the gate detail once, and after that a Tuesday dog visit or a Thursday evening sitter is routine.
We live a few streets over in Cross Creek, on the same side of the county line.
Getting in
Live Oak Preserve is a private gated community; the HOA's resident sheet lists Envera gate security and a guard-house phone, with resident gate access cards and stickers. The HOA does not publish a visitor procedure, so tell the gate to expect us before the first visit and we confirm the arrangement at the free meet and greet.
Amenities and who can use them
The amenity center is resident-fob restricted, so if you want us at the pool or clubhouse with your kids or your dog, we need your fob.

The gate, the schools, the amenities and what a visit looks like here.
How does a sitter get into Live Oak Preserve?
The HOA's resident sheet lists Envera gate security and a guard-house phone, with access cards and stickers for residents. There is no published visitor procedure, so you let the gate know to expect us before the first visit and we confirm the arrangement at the free meet and greet.
Is Live Oak Preserve in Tampa or Hillsborough County?
Both, in a sense: the mailing address is Tampa, FL 33647, but the community sits in unincorporated Hillsborough County outside the Tampa city limits. Its two CDDs were created by county ordinance in 2002. Either way it is Hillsborough County Public Schools, not Pasco, with Hillsborough's calendar.
Can you use the clubhouse pool with my kids?
Clubhouse amenities require a photo ID with proof of residency and a resident access card, with a limit of five guests per household, and the pool has no lifeguard. Our sitting runs at your home and the village playground; if you want pool time, you set up the guest access and we follow the rules.
Which schools serve Live Oak Preserve?
The Hillsborough County Public Schools locator assigns the clubhouse address to Turner/Bartels K-8 for elementary and middle grades and Wharton High for high school. Boundaries are set by the School Board and can change, so check your own address in the locator.
