A master-planned neighborhood boulevard and pond in Wesley Chapel, Florida

New River, Wesley Chapel, FL

A roughly 718-acre community development district on the SR 54 corridor in east Wesley Chapel, created by Pasco County in December 2005, with the New River Amenity Center on Autumn Ridge Dr, a second clubhouse on River Glen Blvd, and newer sections that belong to the Avalon Park Wesley Chapel master plan.

What a visit looks like in New River

New River is one of the two community development districts that manage Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, on the SR 54 corridor in east Wesley Chapel, FL. Pasco County created the district by Ordinance 05-50, effective December 20, 2005, over about 718 acres. Its villages, Cypress Village and Hawthorne Village, are named on the district site, and listings show homes here built from the early 2000s onward. The district runs two clubhouses, the New River Amenity Center at 5227 Autumn Ridge Dr and the Avalon Park Clubhouse at 5060 River Glen Blvd, and its pools open with a resident pool card, so a sitter taking your kids swimming goes on your card and under the district's rules.

River Glen Blvd meets SR 54 between Curley Rd and Morris Bridge Rd. Avalon Park's own SR 54 page tracks the widening from east of Curley Rd to east of Morris Bridge Rd and the turn restrictions that came with it, so ask us which way we come in before the first visit. New River Elementary is at 4710 River Glen Blvd, which is why so much of our work here is the after-school window: a sitter who meets the bus, gets the snack and the assignment list done, and hands off when you get home. Pet visits follow the same school-day rhythm, with summer walks at sunrise or after 7 p.m.

The New River Branch Library sits on SR 54 nearby, and the Avalon Park welcome center on Avalon Park Blvd is where the newer sections begin. We are not from New River. We are down Bruce B. Downs in New Tampa, and this is a neighborhood where we like standing weekly bookings rather than one-offs.

We are just down Bruce B. Downs in New Tampa, and Wesley Chapel is where most of our visits are.

Getting in

The New River CDD site does not describe a gate and we have not found one in any source. We confirm how to reach your section at the meet and greet, including which SR 54 turn we use, because the widening added turn restrictions between Curley Rd and River Glen Dr.

New River questions

The gate, the schools, the amenities and what a visit looks like here.

Which New River clubhouse is which?

The district runs two. The New River Amenity Center at 5227 Autumn Ridge Dr is the Cypress Village clubhouse. The Avalon Park Clubhouse is at 5060 River Glen Blvd. Both are rented through the CDD, and the pools open with a resident pool card, which stays yours: we use it only with you present or by your written say-so.

Do you cover the Avalon Park sections of New River?

Yes. Avalon Park Wesley Chapel is managed by two districts, the New River CDD and the Avalon Park West CDD, and the New River side includes the River Glen Blvd clubhouse. If you are unsure which district your street is in, the CDD line on your tax bill carries the district's name.

Can you help with homework for a New River Elementary student?

Yes. New River Elementary is at 4710 River Glen Blvd, the same road as the district's Avalon Park clubhouse, and most of our homework-help bookings here are the after-school hour: bus stop or pickup, snack, the assignment list, reading, and a note on what got done.

Is New River gated?

The CDD site does not describe a gate and we have not found one in any source. We confirm how to reach your section at the free meet and greet, including which SR 54 turn we use, since the widening brought turn restrictions between Curley Rd and River Glen Dr.
